Rongai Gate on the mountain's quiet northern side to Simba Camp.
Simba Camp to Second Cave Camp.
Second Cave Camp to Kikelewa Camp.
Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, with views of Mawenzi Peak for acclimatization.
Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut, crossing the alpine desert saddle.
Midnight summit push to Uhuru Peak, descend to Horombo Hut (an optional 7th day continues to Marangu Gate for certificates).
